CONNECTING NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS TO THE LOCAL ECONOMY
Join EmployIndy and LISC Indianapolis as we discuss a new strategic plan and partnership for neighborhood workforce development. Employers throughout Greater Indianapolis are experiencing growth, and, with growth, comes the promise of more jobs. Yet, many of these jobs require skills that some residents in our urban neighborhoods do not possess. EmployIndy and LISC Indianapolis seek to bridge this skills gap to connect work-ready individuals to in-demand positions for employers. On Nov. 17, hear Angie Carr-Klitzsch, CEO of EmployIndy, and Tedd Grain, Deputy Director of LISC Indianapolis, discuss their collective efforts to enhance Indianapolis’ workforce ecosystem in order to better connect residents in targeted urban neighborhoods to family-sustaining jobs. By prioritizing efforts in these targeted neighborhoods, we can take active steps toward building a more equitable approach to workforce development. By growing our region’s potential from the inside, we can begin to support all Marion County residents as they pursue the American Dream. This event is free and open to the public. Beer from Sun King Brewery and pretzels will be provided.
