LISC Development on Tap
June 19, 2018 at 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Please join us as we discuss how this new tool can catalyze inclusive growth in neighborhoods, helping to establish conditions in which people and communities can reach their full productive potential. Adopting a unified approach to reducing poverty and growing our economy is key to providing reliable pathways toward good jobs.
This Development on Tap discussion will focus on:
- Understanding Indiana’s Opportunity Zones
- Supporting place-based deployment of Opportunity Zone tax breaks through targeted districts
- Steering Opportunity Zones towards inclusive growth on a local and national scale
- Understanding how local Indianapolis Opportunity Districts have performed and what lessons we can learn from them
The discussion will include:
Maurice Jones, LISC National President & CEO will share a national vision for catalyzing opportunity for America’s neighborhoods.
Kevin Boes, President of LISC New Markets Support Company, will present an overview of the latest Opportunity Zone happenings and emerging strategies for developing the Opportunity Funds.
David Greenberg, LISC Director of Research & Evaluation, and Francisca Winston, LISC Research Associate, will present a baseline assessment of Indianapolis Opportunity Districts.
The discussion will also include a facilitated panel discussion with local stakeholders.
Beer from Sun King Brewery and pretzels will be provided.
Tickets for this event are $5 (please do not let this $5 fee keep you from attending, scholarships are available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org).
