LISC Development on Tap
November 13, 2018 at 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
A safe, affordable home is one of the basic requisites of life – key to individual health and well-being, and the foundation for sustainable, economically vibrant and diverse neighborhoods. Housing is where LISC started. And it remains a cornerstone of our mission, even as our vision has expanded to incorporate work to improve education, health, safety and economic growth in the places where we work.
LISC’s November Development on Tap event will be all about housing. We will dive into big picture learnings, approaches and examples from Kansas City and Duluth, similar housing markets to Indianapolis. We will discuss financing strategies using TIF financing, NMTC loan funds for single family Housing revitalization projects, and discuss how Opportunity Zones and other strategies could play a role in addressing the challenges of cost vs. value in the single family housing market. The agenda will feature a brief presentation by LISC national housing team member Matthew Leber and Q & A with local panel participants and the audience. Come prepared to engage in a lively conversation!
