LISC Development on Tap
September 27, 2018 at 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
There is a 10 – 20 year life expectancy gap between various Indianapolis neighborhoods. The lower life expectancy rate is largely due to health disparities and is similar to rates seen in countries such as Iraq and Bangladesh. In addition, 80 percent of health outcomes come from social determinants of health like housing, safety and income. So, how can we work to help bridge that gap?
LISC Indianapolis strongly believes in fostering an environment, both physical and social, that supports greater health and well-being for Indianapolis residents. Community developers do important work to change neighborhood environments for healthier living every day. Aligned with partners in health care, they can achieve even more.
